I began this piece before my style change. Originally I intended to do whole figurines but I quickly realized how impossible it would have been to complete by the deadline. I'm contemplating: finish the existing Captain America or redo him. The redone version would likely be a zoomed in view of his face and chest or possibly just face. He would be done in sharpies instead of pastels. Advice please.

I really like the existing Captain America. I would use the one you already have. I don't know much about super heroes (I grew up fairly deprived of TV or comic books or both, depending on where Captain America originated) but from my perspective it would be easier to recognize him if you keep the full body shot. Just an opinion :)
I agree with Cina, the STANCE of Captain America in your pastel drawing has meaning, feeling, and the perfect mood. The pastel might need to be "cleaned up" around the smudged edges (messy pastels...) I would use White paint to clean it up and make it POP.
Much Love, and Good Luck

I agree with Gretta and Cina i do love the existing Captain America. The pastels give it more of that comic book feel in my opinion. looks fantasic :) your such a talented artist.
