The idea behind this piece came to me in a dream; vivid, lifelike, and full of energy. I, however, cannot decide how to recreate it's magic in an artform. The idea remains trapped in a 2D black and white sketch format, but I wish to redraw and paint it with acryllic. I wanted to try to do it in oil due to a suggestion by Kimberly but I still remain quite confused.
The three things I got for this piece were Architecture, Repetition, and Paper so honestly, I don't believe I could've gotten away with painting it. I honestly love this idea quite a lot and I really hope I can revise it and redo it much better than it is now. In this state, there wasn't much more I could do to it.
I vaguely like how this interesting scene is contrasted by its boring color scheme.
I hate how I feel like I didn't do my idea justice, but I really could go too far. I also hate how after I "finished" it, so many more ideas came to me and I grow angry at myself for not incorperating some of them.
I can say that M.C. Esher inspired part of this piece...along with bits of Picasso for the characters. I just really, really, want to redo this picture; I feel it has so much potential, but I didn't do it justice.

Q, what are you talking about? This piece is awesome. It's clever and very "mind"-catching. It makes the viewer think and enjoy it at the same time. I love it. Don't change it.
P.S. My mother loves it too. She also thinks you should wear your hair curly at some point!
I like your idea, however, this still looks more like a sketch than a finished project. I don't understand why you don't think you could have done this as a painting?
More detail and contrast is needed to really bring this piece to life. I look forward to seeing the finished product.
Thanks, both of you. I honestly don't have faith in my ability to recreate it as a painting, but I may work on one in the future. I'll detail this version out and add some crosshatching. I still don't know if I should add color to it. I want to, but I believe I won't do it well.
Just take one step at a time, go for the detail in graphite. Then see if it needs anything else.
hello quinton...= }
i love this piece, it is so...original and interesting; totally something i would not expect from you, and yet it is you...
i love how it all comes together to look like an actual tea party, it is so good that I got so focused to the tea party and completely forgot for a moment that is was all inside your ear! it is so random, yet it fits togather so well...i like it.
I agree with Mrs. Glenn's idea to use some graphite in it, it would darken things up so you could see it better. Also, i think that the staircase could have been a little bit better; it was rather crooked, like something you would see in the background of a picasso painting...but mabye that was the look you were going for. was it?

Bajeeze, I love the concept of this. It's very abstract and creative.
I'd love to see you add more values and contrast to it. I have faith in your ability. Can't wait to see it finished!
Q, you have got to quit doubting yourself. You ARE a good artist. You have the ability, and if you think your work needs to be painted, do it. Just remember that the truly great artists are fearless!
I appreciate everyone's feedback. I think you all would be glad to know I'm working on a similar idea that involves the eye; be sure to ask me about it :)
I absolutely love this piece quinton! Its something that you don't witness everyday but I'm glad that I got a chance to. I would love to see you shade and add some value to it. I don't understand why you don't have the confidence to paint it. If your scared that you'll mess up then draw and practice with a similar one. I believe it would make the piece come to life. Never doubt your abilities. Your an amazing artist and I believe you could do anything!
I like the realism put into the randomness, kind of surreal but not in the melting clock sort of way. I agree that you should try shading it all or doing it in color. If it looks this good in the form of an unfinished da Vince sketch then it will be amazing once you do a full follow-through.
