Right now I'm in the middle of several different pieces in a desperate rush to get it all done two months from now. I have an oil painting that's been in progress for the past two years, a big 4'x3' canvas of a scene inspired by The Great Wave off Kanagawa by Hokusai, a few other misc. acrylic paintings, and a few other illustrations here and there.
Despite my several works in progress, I've been able to turn out a few fast-paced brush pen illustrations with one or two class periods spent on each. They're fun, easy, and I love creating them. I love the way these pens work and how they blend.
On my fourth one, however, a few of my markers ran dry. I guess it's back to painting 'til I buy some more!

you...with your color skills. im so jealous. its neat to see how much your art has grown over the years. keep on keepin on rachel. your portfolio is going to be a rainbow of your creativity.
aloah, i see your art daily and have watched you grow in your art over a period of time. I believe your potential is rising and think you are a very inspirational artist to many of the younglings around you. Rachel, it is astounding what you can do with your imagination. It's like a never ending rainfall of creativity and color. I can't wait, because ten years from now, your art will be hanging in some fancy art museum, and I'll be able to say, "Wow, I was in class with her!"
I'd just like to say that, even though I watched you make 2 of these pieces & have stolen your brush pens myself, I still have no idea how you make amazing explosions of color with them. Your blending skills are krunk. I appreciate the pieces' bold lines, too... and, dude: the bag lady is my all time favorite of your's. Her body language & rough clothes & crazy eyes just make my soul smile. Real talk. The homeless of this country need more representation.
Rachel these are great. I love the little mouse by the way. The colors and how you used them is astounding. You'd make a wonderful illustrator.
Keep it up, I love the colors and movement in each piece. Crop your pictures before posting, expecially if these are the pictures you are using for your AP portfolio. The picture should be all artwork.
I love your use of color...i seem so drab next to you with my black and white things. haha...:) Your work is always so amazing.
The Hobo lady is my favorite, you combined realism with all of that abstract color and it turned out to be absolutely wonderful.
